This is beautiful representation of Hermes, the messenger of the Gods. He is holding a cadecus and has one foot on a globe. His sandals and helmet are winged, representing his swiftness and ability to get somewhere very fast.
Hermes is the son of Zeus and Maia. He is the God of wealth, commerce, good fortune and theivery. He is known to be very clever and he invented many things. He protects travelers and assists in sleep and dreams. He brought the souls of the dead to Hades (Pluto) in the Underworld. He is sometimes also known to be a trickster God. In Greek he is Hermes, the Romans call him Mercury.
This statue is made of resin and bronze and has hand painted accents. It stands 13" tall.
