Tsunami Relief Benefit @ Air and Fire
Jan 11, 2005
Dear Friends, It is with heartfelt concern that we send out the first Air and Fire update of the year. We are still in awe over the immense tragedy in South Asia. We begin this new cycle with a declaration of support for the victims of the tsunami disaster and for all the victims worldwide of mother natures recent commotions. The tsunami tragedy requires our response. We are all inter-connected beings and our brothers and sisters need our support in any form we can provide it. Be it the raising of healing energy in ritual, Be it the calling upon of healing energy in prayer, Be it activation of healing within and without through meditation, Let us focus our intent on compassion for our brothers and sisters. In times of tragedy, helplessness sometimes dominates the atmosphere. Sometimes the best we can do is provide support for the future, especially the children. They are the hope that many of the affected peoples have left, as material possessions have been swept away. Over one third of the deceased are thought to be children. Over 36,000 children are said to have lost one or both parents. In support of the children of the region, below you will find a link to the Tsunami Relief Efforts donation page of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF): http://www.unicefusa.org/tsunami We have chosen UNICEF as the recipient of our support after careful consideration. Last year, the UNICEF U.S. Fund spent only 12 percent of its budget on administrative and fundraising expenses, with 88 percent of contributions directly supporting efforts to help kids. Unicef is already "on the ground" in the disaster stricken area with an established network to actually get much needed food and medicine to the survivors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As an act of solidarity, Air and Fire will raise funds for a donation this weekend: Friday, January 14th through Sunday, January 16th; 10% of all Air and Fire sales proceeds will be donated to UNICEF's Tsunami Relief Efforts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We remain optimistic as we begin the new calendar year, there is much to be learned from our experiences on this wonderful journey of the union of body mind and spirit. May the new year bring balance and blessings, Lobo and Emelia 831-338-7567 13155 B Highway 9 Boulder Creek, Ca. 95006 http://www.airandfire.com “A warrior must learn to make every act count, since he or she is going to be here in this world for only a short while, in fact, too short for witnessing all the marvels of it.” -Carlos Castaneda 20th century mystic and Toltec warrior -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to be removed from our list reply with "remove me" in the subject title.
